Philip Ammerman is an experienced investment advisor, having advised on major investment and privatization transactions in Greece and internationally. He is founder of Navigator Consulting Group as well as several start-ups. He has extensive experience in the process of due diligence, business planning, profitability analysis and strategic development of enterprises. Since beginning his consulting career, he has led or supported over 160 projects in some 44 countries, with a total value of over EUR 6 billion invested.

 

Philip began his consulting career with Kienbaum and Partners, a leading German consulting firm specializing in public sector restructuring. With Kienbaum, he participated the restructuring of the senior management of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the Cyprus Tourism Organisation, Seliko a.s. Olomouc, and other organizations.

 

He has also advised the European Commission, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the European Agency for Reconstruction (EAR), and a range of other public and private sector clients.

 

Since 1996, Philip has advised on Web 1.0 and Web 2.0 start-ups and growing enterprises. He has developed a detailed methodology on due diligence and financial modelling for seed, early stage and growth start-ups which has been deployed on over 30 funding rounds.

 

In 2010, Navigator Consulting launched its Entrepreneurship Charter, a commitment to support or launch 10 start-ups or spin-offs between 2011-2020. In this respect, seven new companies have been launched where Philip acts in a mentoring or Board capacity.

 

In this capacity, Philip is founder of the European Consulting Network (www.ecn-eu.com), an international network of over 8,000 consultants, researchers and universities that cooperate on EU and donor-funded programmes.

 

He is also co-founder of Socama Group (www.socamagroup.com), which provides digital finance solutions, as well as the Athens Investment Summit (www.athensinvestmentsummit.com) and NavInvest Greece (www.navinvestgreece.com).

 

He is also the founder of the Centre for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (CEI) (www.innovationcentre.com), which consolidates and expands the activities of the Navigator Entrepreneurship Charter.

 

He has advised a number of start-ups and established companies and funds investing in start-ups, mainly in the United Kingdom and the United States.

 

He has an AB in Geological and Geophysical Sciences from Princeton University (1994), a Certificate in African Studies from Princeton University (1994) and a Certificate in Human Resources Studies from Cornell University, School of Industrial and Labour Relations (2006). He is currently completing the University of Oxford Fintech Programme.
